Leon qualified as an optometrist from Wits School of Optometry in 1991 and then completed a part-time post-graduate optometry course through Boston University in 1996.
His quirky vintage-look shop at the Woolworths Centre on Mackeurtan Avenue in Durban North stocks trendy designer frames as well some exclusive vibrant couture colorful eyewear. For those preferring a more classic look, they have high quality German frames as well as a selection of budget frames for the price-conscious.
Leon delivers personal attention to each patient from the initial eye test to the frame selection and the final fitting of spectacles or contact lenses. He prides himself on his personal interest in each patient from young to old.
Local retirement homes, frail care visits at home or in hospital are part of Leon’s commitment to the community. He is contracted in to all medical aids and runs frequent specials.
Leon is married to Dinorah, who runs a playgroup centre from their home in La Lucia. They have three daughters, Rachel, Loren and Julia. As a family they enjoy camping and visiting the game reserves. They have been a part of the local Harvest church for about 20 years.
